The Beaches
 |
The most beautiful beaches in Guadeloupe are situated within a 5 minute radius by car from the village of Deshaies: Grande Anse, La Perle, Riflet, Fort Royal etc. In these idyllic settings you can indulge in a wide range of water sports or simply relax and unwind.
And at midday when the sun is at its hottest, you can also have lunch on the beach, looking out to sea, in one of the local restaurants where you can discover the island's culinary specialities: accras (cod fish fritters), colombo (curry), lambis (local shellfish) fricassee, stuffed crabs and other grilled fish specialities... |
The Tours
 |
Numerous sightseeing and cultural tours are also on offer in the Basse Terre (lowlands): you can visit the National Park, the Botanical Garden of Deshaies, the "Maison de la forêt" or Forest House, the "Cascade aux Ecrevisses" or Crayfish Falls, the Garbet Falls, the famous "la Soufrière" volcano and "la Pointe de la Grande Vigie" (a superb lookout point).
You can also admire the marine life on the sea bed by taking a trip on board a glass-bottomed boat (The Cousteau Reserve).
Whether you wish to explore the sea, mountains or forests, our team is on hand to provide guidance and to assist you in organising your tours. |
The "HEMINGWAY" restaurant
 |
In an enchanting setting, under a magnificent Creole timbered roof, overlooking the bay of Deshaies and the National Park of la Pointe Batterie, the restaurant offers a varied menu of French and Creole cuisine.
Savour the famous "sabrés" (cutlassfish) or the giant brochettes of freshly caught fish while admiring the panoramic views over the Caribbean Sea, the port of Deshaies and its superb sailing boats.
And, in such a perfect setting, why not take an after-dinner stroll along the shore and dip your feet in the refreshing water!
During certain periods the restaurant offers musical entertainment with an orchestra. Information is available at the restaurant. |
